I really liked the location - literally one minute's walk from Piotrkowska, which is the main street in Lodz. The staff were very friendly and always courteous. They helped me out with things like trams in the city, directions about how to get to places X or Y, and also bus/train timetables for other destinations in Poland. I found that the hotel had a really familial atmosphere and I felt very comfortable there. Breakfast was also great - loads of food!

The hotel is probably not as luxurious as someone might expect. The decor is a little dated but if you don't care about this, then this is the place for you!

Looks perfect from outside, perfect location in a side street of the city center. Public parking on street (small fee) available in front of the hotel. Lift is man operated, you get a "back to the 50's" feeling. If you look for a cheap hotel in the center of Lodz and you don't expect too much - it's ok. Very friendly reception service, also English speaking.

Either this was a hospital, government building or something similar in the past. Very strange floors with strange rooms, small bathrooms. Rooms are small but very high (4-5 meters). Unfriendly and bad breakfast service (only instant coffee - for a real coffee you have to pay in addition). No internet in rooms, only in the lobby (with 2 or 3 seats only). For me it was not worth the money I paid - next time I spent some more Zlotys for a nicer hotel.

I liked the fact that the hotel was built in 1912 and was 98 years old. I was reading about the history of Lodz and Poland, during the early and mid 1900s.

When I first arrived in my room, the bathroom door would not open. I called for help and the staff also could not get it open. They transferred me to a different room that turned out to be fine (except for the ugly carpet).

Given its excellent location, service, and fantastic complementary breakfast, the hotel surpassed all my expectations.

    The room was very quiet.

I felt a bit awkward with the guy operating the lift - I could do that myself, not a major problem.

Location excellent, a short walk from the station and just around the corner from the main street. Staff very helpful and room was large, clean and comfortable.

Central location is a big plus. Breakfast is also fine (apart from instant coffee). The equipment is a bit old but the room was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the old-fashioned atmosphere but I believe some guests may dislike it.

The corridors are a bit spooky. There was no electric socket in the bathroom.

The Savoy is well situated to everything and easy walking distance to the shopping area. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is rather old, but the location is very good,

Very old TV set, not so many programs.

Best things about the hotel was the closeness to Piotrkowska (the long shopping road), it's very central, it's close to different transportations (trams, trains). Loved the breakfast as well. The hotel has a beautiful art deco charm, though some updates could have been done.

The beds we're horrible. Too hard, matresses covered in plastic and with blankets soo heavy and thick they could fit perfectly for a trip to the north pole. Too hot. And what's up with the quiet annoying elevator-man - his only job was too join us in the elevator and push the "right" button, which we got explained was impossible to do on your own... Really? He wasn't just the elevator man, he was a pure magician as well, with magic fingers, making stuff no one else can.

The hotel is decorated with paintings, pictures, and artefacts that add some character. Ceilings are high and there are some interesting lights.

The TV was not flat screen

The best I liked was the bed, I could sleep in well and quiet room I had, I couldn't even hear the music sounds from the restaurant.

I liked to know more about the history connected with this hotel, it's a pity there's no information about it and the staff of the hotel can't tell anything about the building and famous people who stayed there.

Ideal location (practically, it's the center of city). Good furniture, excellent breakfast, the friendly personnel.

In a bathroom there was no towel for feet. The toilet soap is very small.
